Our group first got together on the 22nd of January when we decided to name it BLOOM offered by Sema (and elected via free voting :))
Bloom met for the first time on Feb 11 to schedule the upcoming meetings, to choose the topics to be discussed. Aylin, Joseph, George,Simge, Steve, Devrim, Sinem, Amelitha, Samantha and Sema attended the meeting. We all introduced ourselves and talked about our expectations from this group.
We also set our norms. Each participant wrote down a list of rules and norms which they believed were essential for successful meetings. We then picked the common ones and reworded them.
So here are the NORMS for BLOOM:
- We respect each other.
- We start on time and finish on time.
- Active participation is strongly encouraged.
- We listen actively.
- We don't make judgments.
- Before making a comment, we apply T-K-N rule i.e. Is it KIND?- Is it TRUE?- Is it NECESSARY?
- The facilitator and or presenter brings coffee, tea, cookies, etc.
After setting the norms we also set our meeting dates and our presenters and facilitators were chosen.
